Pastor Robert Sweatt grew up in Canton, Georgia. He attended Maranatha Baptist University in Wisconsin, where he earned a B.A. in Pastoral Studies. Following graduation, he attended Maranatha Baptist Seminary earning an M.A. in Biblical Counseling.
Pastor Sweatt, his wife Katie, and daughters, Lily and Georgia, moved to Lansing from West Hartford, Connecticut where he had previously founded and led the Farmington Avenue Biblical Counseling Center.
